We analysed recent changes in human pressure (as measured by the Human Footprint) and forest cover (Global Forest Watch data) within all terrestrial Natural World Heritage Sites. The work is published in Biological Conservation:

The aim of this digital platform is to make the results available to people involved in the protection and management of Natural World Heritage Sites. We hope it will inform national authorities and the international community.

The study was carried out by an international team of experts from the University of Queensland (UQ), Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), University of Northern British Colombia (UNBC), The International Union For Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, and UN Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC).
