Jennifer is a 3rd- year PhD candidate in the Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Science at The University of Queensland and a research associate at Macquarie University. She is interested in developing interdisciplinary, collaborative and decision theoretic approaches to addressing conservation challenges. Her research focuses on improving methods for applied spatial conservation planning and she is interested in the value of science to make robust decisions and outcome focused planning.

Beyond her research, Jennifer invests much of her free time into training and building capacity for NGOs and governments in the use of decision support tools for spatial prioritisation. As one of the principle trainers of Marxan, she has worked with WWF, TNC, IUCN and many local organisations to train over 300 practitioners, scientists and public servants. She currently partners on applied conservation projects all over the world, from the highly contested waters of the Adriatic Sea to the remote seascapes of Papua New  Guinea.
