I am fascinated by the interactions between people and the environment, and what that means for the conservation of biodiversity. A key driver of my research is a curiosity about how we might engage more people with nature conservation, and improve uptake of science-based policies.

My research interests are inherently interdisciplinary, ranging from exploring patterns of wilderness loss to understanding how experiences of nature influence human wellbeing in urban landscapes. I have experience in developing strategic biodiversity policy, and so I am particularly interested in science that has implications for managing the impacts of people on the environment. 

I have ongoing collaborations with The Green Fire Science group, the Fuller Lab at the University of Queensland, the Interdisciplinary Conservation Science Research Group at RMIT, among many others.
